  The Bastille via ferrata is the only urban via ferrata in France!

  The route has 2 main parts over a length of approximately 950 meters (400 m on the cliff and 550 m on the path).

  The starting point is at No. 22 Route de Lyon, 100 meters from Porte de France, behind the Esplanade.

  Security ! 

  It is essential to prepare well for your outing and to check the weather forecast. Do not engage if the weather is threatening or stormy. It is strongly advised to evolve roped up.

• Part 1:
  Lower part – VICAT cliffs / Trail

  Quite steep with an impressive rope bridge

  • Elevation: 120m
  • Length: 250m
  • Travel time: 45 mins
  • Difficulty: fairly difficult + to difficult
  • Intermediate trail: 400 m – 15 min

• Part 2:
  Upper part – Cliffs of the Bastille

  Athletic and sustained, requires good physical condition

  • Elevation: 110m
  • Length: 300m
  • Travel time: 45 mins
  • Difficulty: fairly difficult + to difficult
  • 2 easier escape possibilities

• 3rd part:
  Final part of the route

  Short railway line that emerges under the parapet of an old casemate, a few meters from the top of the Bastille

  • Elevation: 10m
  • Length: 30m
  • Travel time: 5 mins
  • Difficulty: easy
