The Musée des Troupes de montagne

Discover a museum dedicated to the Mountain Troops, featuring an immersive tour of the history and missions of mountain soldiers since 1988.

Established in 1988, the “Musée des troupes de Montagne” is a space dedicated to a specific military corps. It provides a meeting place for interaction and exchange between the Mountain Troops and the public.

The museum offers :

• An immersive and attractive tour presenting the history of the Troupes des Montagnes from their origins to the present day.
• Exceptional exhibits and spectacular reconstructions.
• An annual temporary exhibition focusing on a particular theme or collection.

Located on the Bastille, the museum is closely tied to the history of Grenoble and the Mountain Troops, overlooked from 200 meters above by a memorial dedicated to the mountain soldiers.

Admission to the museum is free for everyone.

A tour with an audio guide is offered in four languages: French, English, Italian and German, at the price of 2€.

The audioguide is free for school groups and students, active and reserve soldiers, veterans, and people with reduced mobility.

A group rate is available at the price of 2€ per person, including audio guide.
