What’s happening at the Bastille Fort? This year, we are honoring our six partners with a series of “View from the top” interviews!
Over the coming months, discover each of them through a one-minute interview.
The videos will be posted on our social media channels. You can also find a summary of these interviews in our press releases, newsletters, and on our website.
Thanks to these videos, you’ll learn all about our partners and hear some interesting anecdote!
Let’s check out Snack La Salle des Gardes!
Bastien and Antoine welcome us to the Snack La Salle des Gardes, a gourmet spot nestled in the heart of the Fort. Here, each season has its own menu: ravioli gratin or red lentil soup in winter, homemade sandwiches and artisanal ice cream in summer… not to mention the famous walnut cake!
Simple, local cuisine full of flavor, just like this friendly place.
Can you tell the two brothers apart?
Introduce yourselves!
Bastien: “I’m Bastien, I’ve been the manager for a few years now.”
Antoine: “I’m Antoine.”
Tell us about La Salle des Gardes!
Bastien: “Well, we’re a snack bar that promotes local products, and we try to offer a wide variety. ”
Antoine: “We have a winter menu and a summer menu, with flavors that change with the seasons.”
What makes you unique?
Bastien: “The Salle des Gardes. It’s aptly named. We’re right in the heart of the fort.”
Antoine: “We focus on high-quality products.”
What's on the menu?
Bastien: “We have a children’s menu, a ravioli gratin, and homemade sandwiches. In winter, we have red lentil soup and a vegetarian bowl.”
Antoine: “And for dessert, we have delicious homemade ice cream that we can top for those with a sweet tooth with whipped cream, delicious coulis, chocolate, caramel, and even génépi coulis. And the famous walnut cake!”
The Salle des Gardes in three words?
Antoine: “Gourmet.”
Bastien: “Local.”
Antoine: “Exceptional view!”
Any anecdotes to share with us?
Bastien: “We look quite alike, since we’re brothers. And it’s true that sometimes we used to have fun with customers by disappearing behind the bar and then reappearing. They wondered if we had split into two. They were a little confused by the resemblance.”
