The route consists of 2 main sections, totaling approximately 950 meters (400 meters on rock and 550 meters of path).

The starting point is located at 22 Route de Lyon, 100 meters from the Porte de France, behind the Esplanade.

1st Part: Lower Section – VICAT Cliffs / Path

• Quite steep with an impressive monkey bridge
• Elevation gain: 120 m
• Length: 250 m
• Required time: 45 min
• Difficulty: quite difficult to difficult
• Intermediate path: 400 m – 15 min

2nd part : Upper section – Bastille cliffs

• Athletic and demanding, requires good physical fitness
• Elevation gain: 110 m
• Length: 300 m
• Required time: 45 min
• Difficulty: quite difficult to difficult
• 2 easier escape routes available

3rd part : Final part of the route

• Short ferrata route that leads to the parapet of an old casemate, just a few meters from the summit of the Bastille
• Elevation gain: 10 m
• Length: 30 m
• Required time: 5 min
• Difficulty: easy
