A little bit of technique: wire traction

The bi-wire cable-car is unidirectional. Cable-cars are fixed to the tractor wire and roll on the carrier wire, slowing down when passing the stations. The cable-cars are supported by a carriage rolling on a carrier wire (1 uphill, 1 downhill). Tension between wires is provided by counterweights (46 tones for the carrier and 24, 4 tones for the tractor) that are moored in the higher station.
